The Tick has always stood apart: bold, ridiculous, unstoppable, and completely sincere in his quest for justice, no matter how bizarre the odds become. With this action figure, we wanted to capture that same larger-than-life spirit in collectible form.
Through our license with Ben Edlund, this project lets us translate The Tick’s unmistakable comic book presence, heroic confidence, and wonderfully absurd charm into a figure built for longtime fans who have followed his battles against strange villains and impossible threats, as well as new collectors discovering the character for the first time.
Every part of this release is designed to honor the humor, heart, and over-the-top spirit of the mighty defender of justice, creating a collectible that feels unmistakably Tick: powerful, playful, and ready to shout “Spoon!” from the shelf.
Nobody knows where The Tick came from. He does not know either, and he has made peace with that. What he does know is that the city needs a hero, and he is very much a hero. Big, blue, and built like a refrigerator wearing spandex, The Tick showed up one day with absolute certainty in his heart and a battle cry that could rattle windows three blocks away.
Ben Edlund first drew The Tick in 1986 as a mascot for New England Comics. What started as a newsletter gag grew into a comic series that turned superhero conventions inside out and made readers laugh while doing it.
The Tick is not brooding or tortured. He just really, really wants to fight evil, and he finds the whole thing tremendously exciting.
Armed with his blue suit, twin antennae, and a gift for speeches at completely inappropriate moments, The Tick patrols the city alongside Arthur, his soft-spoken sidekick in a moth costume. Together, they take on villains so strange they could only exist in a world this good at laughing at itself. From the headless Chairface Chippendale to the ancient underworld mastermind known as The Terror, he charges at every threat with equal enthusiasm, unleashing his legendary battle cry: "SPOOOON!" Nobody knows why. He does not explain it.

Production samples are one of the final stages before our full order ships from the factory to the BBTS warehouse. It is our last opportunity to review everything and ensure the product is good to go. We just got the most recent samples in, and they are looking great! It won't be too much longer now.

Both the Tick and Vacation Tick figures have just landed at the BBTS warehouse! Our receiving team will now unload the container, sort out all the product, and prepare the items for pre-order processing. This usually takes a little bit of time to ensure everything goes smoothly. Be on the lookout for these very soon!
Also, in case you missed it, we revealed the Radioactive Tick figure which is one of our SDCC Exclusives. If you are attending SDCC, you can visit us at booth #618 in Hall A. Supplies are limited, but some inventory will go live on bigbadtoystore.com at a later date. There will also be more characters from The Tick on display at our booth so stay tuned as we expand this fun universe.

That's right, the Tick and Vacation Tick figures are all finished and on a container ship now. As soon as they arrive at the BBTS warehouse, the team will process pre-orders and get them shipped to your door as quickly as possible. As of this update, the ETA is mid-July, but an email will go out once we have a better idea of the actual arrival date. We are excited for the Tick product line to expand, so be on the lookout for more fun characters to add to your Longbox Heroes Prestige collection!
