More than a figure, this piece is a cinematic sculpture - a tribute to a creature that defined a generation.
Staying true to our uncompromising standard of accuracy and artistic integrity, our lead sculptor, Tanaka Kenichi poured his heart and soul into capturing the spirit of the 1998 incarnation exactly as you remember it from the big screen. Every anatomical contour, every muscular tension, every subtle texture of the skin has been meticulously studied and sculpted to reflect the creature's distinctive design.
To honor authenticity, Spiral Studio received invaluable support from the great Gino Acevedo, Creature Paint Designer and Supervisor of Godzilla 1998, who personally supervised the painting process to ensure the coloration and surface treatment match the original model used during the film's production. The result is not interpretation - it is preservation, from the clear pearlescent blue on each of its scale, multiple layers of contrast colors on serrated dorsal fins, to lizard-like wet skin.
To further enhance realism to its absolute peak, we have implemented semi-curved glass eyes - crafted using the same approach as those used on the original animatronic. This subtle yet crucial detail breathes life into the sculpture, creating depth, moisture, and a natural refraction that cannot be replicated by conventional materials. It is one of the defining elements that elevates this statue beyond a collectible and into true museum-grade artistry.
Captured in its iconic running pose, this Godzilla embodies the electrifying taxi-chase sequence through the rain-soaked streets of Manhattan. There is motion in the stillness - a sense of urgency, weight, and cinematic scale rarely achieved in collectible form.
