Hailing from the Death World of Krieg, Death Korps troopers are considered the pinnacle experts in the Astra Militarum of siege and trench warfare. Seeking forgiveness for their forefather's rebellion against the Imperium, soldiers show a disturbing lack of interest in self-preservation, seeking instead to throw themselves into human wave attacks against heavily fortified fortresses and enemy bases. Their fatalistic creed lends itself to their iconic respirators and helmets that deprive them of individuality; they consider themselves to be nameless, faceless biological weapons that carry out the Emperor's will with an iron fortitude stronger than their signature shovels.
