Product Description
The Kiha 40-400 series was introduced in 1996 as a vehicle capable of operating alone during snow removal operations, modified from the Kiha 40-700 series with a strengthened drivetrain.
It served as the successor to the Kiha 53-500 series, which operated on the terminal section of the Sapporo-Numazu Line. The 400 series was characterized by a stripe cut by the connecting door and green boarding and alighting doors.
Head and tail lights and front display are equipped with a lighting board and ON-OFF switch. The front display unit comes with replacement printed parts, "Gakuentoshi Line", "Urausu-Sapporo", "One-man Urausu-Ishikari-Tobetsu", and "Ishikari-Tobetsu-Sapporo".
