The casino scene in Dr. No is a pivotal moment in the history of 007 films, the first time the words ‘Bond. James Bond’ are spoken.
Real plaques from a noted London Casino were loaned to the production to lend an air of authenticity to the Chemin-de-fer game. Plaques are used to place bets in high-stakes games.
Uniformed security guards stood watch off-camera; once filming wrapped all but a very few plaques were returned to the casino.
This limited-edition replica set has been copied from the only surviving original props in the EON Productions archive. Modern materials have been used in place of obsolete vintage materials and the serial numbers on each plaque have been modified for legal compliance reasons.
