In UFO Robot Grendizer, the tyrannical King Vega leaves behind a ravaged non-sustaining homeworld to propagate the Vegan empire by dominating other worlds such as the innocuous planet of Fleed. In the ensuing assault, waged by the monsters and robots comprising the Fleed army, the planet of Fleed is laid to waste. Prince Duke Fleed, representing the last of the royal family, commandeers the Super Robot Grendizer, a manifestation representing the Fleedian God of War. Grendizer is equipped with weapons such as Shoulder Boomerangs, the Screw Crasher Punch and the Space Thunder maneuver.
