This is a good thing to have. Really, because of the orbital ring, there’s just no way to display Unicron in his aggressive planet mode unless you keep him dangling from your ceiling with monofilament. This stand does the trick pretty well, giving Unicron the maneuverability he needs to eat moons and just cause general mayhem.
The cloven mount bracket is designed with an angled depression, so you can nestle Unicron in and keep him balanced. It won’t maintain someone with Unicron’s weight indefinitely, so you might want to give the support post a rest from time to time, maybe changeup the display a little bit, and it’s also a good idea to have a wall of the back of a shelf on hand as contingency reinforcement.
Also, the stand isn’t limited only to Unicron. You can use it to display other Transformers with flight modes; one example given is Tidal Wave in his flight mode. You have to mess around with it a little to find out what works best. The mounting plate and base plate are translucent, which helps in maintaining the illusion of levitation.
