GX-01 Noisemaze (Korean Box)/Sideways transforms from a sleek batlike space vessel into an equally sleek, well articulated robot mode equipped with broad-bladed dual swords and a permanently attached spiked shield. Sideways is accompanied by a Planet X Cyber Key, which activates the shield’s translucent spikes and faction-switching feature. Noted as an inveterate con man, the mysterious, singularly treacherous Sideways is adept at allaying the suspicions of any faction to which he pretends temporary allegiance. Sideways was ultimately revealed to one of the only two survivors of Planet X; acting in concert with his compatriot, Soundwave, Sideways worked to retrieve the final Cyber Key from the planet Gigantion, vilified by Sideways and Soundwave as the destructor of Planet X.
