This is a really cool set up. The idea involves Ultra Magnus during the short time in which he held the Matrix and was subsequently killed. During the time he spent among the Matrix commanders, he was called upon to do battle with the Galvatron II of an alternate reality. Towards this end, Magnus learned new modes of transformation, which he took into his regained alternate incarnation.
Keeping with the concept of Magnus’ primary form being the truck cab, the trailer now becomes, as opposed to a reconfiguration into size-augmenting armor, a functioning battle station. Pretty much the same set-up as Laser Prime or even Scourge. A T-shaped structure fronted by tanker-battlements. Missile launcher, cluster rockets, rapid-fire disk-launcher. Magnus can either control the battle station by mind link or by a preprogrammed code. Also, his fellow Autobots can actually enter the fortifications and man the station themselves.
In robot mode, Magnus is given roughly accurate colors, and though he looks to be a standard repaint of Prime, with the revamped color scheme he looks almost like a whole new robot. His double-barreled blaster can either be handheld or mounted to the battle station.
