One of the absolute best incarnations of Prime, an elusive Gen 2 version that just seemed to appear one day and disappear the next. (It should be mentioned that this Prime is the version that was later repainted into the TF 2000 Black Convoy/R.I.D. Scourge.) In truck mode, this time a long-nosed truck, Laser Optimus carried a massive gas tanker, a very cool feature which transforms into a mobile battle station. The battle station features a central gun-tower with an air-powered missile-launcher silo (complete with two large rubber-tipped missiles) and two flanking battlements, the latter of which are topped by both a disk-launching blaster and a smaller cluster missile launcher. In robot mode, Laser Optimus demonstrates the kind of superior articulation that didn't really reemerge until the Beast Wars. He has the classic Prime's head. The face of the truck splits open to become his massive shoulder plates. The double-barreled blaster atop the tanker gun-tower also serves as Laser Prime's gun. The trailer hitch also doubles as a translucent energon sword for Prime. Additionally, he's fitted with light piping for the eyes, and equipped with battery-operated light-effects for the truck headlights and fist/sword.
