Ghost Hot Rod features the classic colors molded in semi-translucent plastic. Like his ordinary counterpart, Ghost Hot Rod (or Crystal Rodimus) is armed with two Photon Lasers. Ghost Hot Rod’s vehicle transformation involves the standard mode as well as two attack modes based upon which of the two Photon Lasers is mounted to the turret post at the base of the car hood.
Ghost Hot Rod is cited as a Knight of Light, his tech specs are a little higher than those of ordinary Hot Rod: Strength 10, Intelligence 10, Speed 9, Endurance 10, Rank 10, Courage 10, Firepower 10, Skill 10. The background story involves Hot Rod ducking into the Crystal Cavern to circumvent Black Hot Rod. Unexpectedly, a crystal fountain turns Hot Rod into Ghost Hot Rod and additionally reformats Black Hot Rod into a heroic character.
