Utilizing the mold applied to the Gen 2 Smokescreen, Starscream transforms into a fighter jet, and is equipped with two projectile-firing wing/handheld guns. He is packaged with his much larger partner, BB, the latter utilizing the Gen 2 Dreadwing mode, transforming from a stealth fighter into a large stocky robot mode with a shoulder-situated, gatling style cannon. The pair is accompanied by 14 missile projectiles. Starscream’s jet mode is designed to combine with BB’s stealth fighter/tank vehicle mode.
Serving as Air Commander of Thrust, Dirge and his unwaveringly loyal partner BB, Starscream is gripped by ambition greater than that of Galvatron, and secretly yearns to replace the latter as the leader of the Predacons. Starscream is armed with Screamwinder missiles, and joins with BB via the Formation Scream function. The colossal BB, operating from a pool of shared firepower, serves as an enforcer for the diminutive Starscream. Both Starscream and BB were ultimately transformed by Angolmois energy into Hellscream and Max B respectively.
