The underground headquarters of GI JOE, commonly referred to as "The Pit" by the members of this elite team is a technical marvel of todays age. Within the second floor of this multi level facility is the communication nerve center, the heart of the JOE's intelligence gathering. Data is continuously flowing in and out, to and from JOE operatives around the world, governments, and news agencies. With this never ending flow of intel, GI JOE is dispatched around the globe to quell hostile and violent situations wherever they may arise. The main culprit behind much of the worlds hostility in one way or another is the ruthless organization known as COBRA. From within The Pit's data collection center, a beacon from a downed COBRA satellite has been discovered in the jungles of Sierra Gordo. Conducting a briefing of this intel, General Hawk informs a JOE insertion team of the details, coordinates and importance of the mission at hand. Reaching this downed satellite and extracting the data from it before COBRA can reach it is the primary objective. Knowing full well the importance and danger of the mission, the General decides to lead the team himself into the jungles in this race against time.
