Ryu features a massive range of articulation, as well as interchangeable hands and Hurricane Kick accessory. He’s clad in his ragged karate suit, sparring gauntlets, and the red bandana sash given to him by an uncharacteristically sensitive Ken during one of the more tender moments of Street Fighter: The Animated Movie.
Ryu fought his way through the first World Warrior tournament, working his way up to Sagat, the current champion at the time. Ryu succeeded in defeating Sagat, scarring his chest and wounding his pride, but in the process Ryu began to sense his own darker side. He went back to see his master Gouken, only to find out that Akuma had fought Gouken to the death. Hitting the road, Ryu met the likes of Sakura and E. Honda, ran into Sagat again, and eventually ran afoul of Bison. He fought in a number of tournaments, impressing most of his rivals with his strength and perseverance.
