Set in 7” scale, the Dog Soldier comes with an environmental base. The werewolf stands poised, hunch-backed on crooked hind legs. He’s positioned pad-deep in a red gore soup of dismembered body parts. The Dog Soldier is bulkier and more rawboned than the vulpine, Howling-style breed of werewolf. The darkish pelt varies in consistency, leaving the werewolf’s humanoid musculature exposed. The head is almost leonine, a large shaggy mass framing a broad snout stitched with long thick fangs
The setting: The Highlands of Scotland. A squad of soldiers arrives for a supposed training exercise. In actuality, they're being used as bait---by another squad, an elite squad of soldiers---to draw in the werewolves local to the region. The elite soldiers are of course quickly annihilated and the first division of soldiers, the heroes of the story, are forced into a low-lying hamlet where they find an obliquely attractive girl and quiet-looking cottage. About ten seconds later the whole compound is werewolf-besieged. The Dog Soldier werewolves were sleek and fast-moving, highly intelligent, strategy-minded, ultimately resistant to virtually any grade of firepower.
