The name Fett carries with it a cold air of dread. To those with the means to hire him, it means success. For many, Fett means capture and death. In the final years of the Republic, Jango Fett was regarded as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.
Jango Fett’s Mandalorian helmet is distinctive with its forbidding T-shaped visor and pineal eye sensor. Serving as the computerized control center for Mandalorian armor, the helmet features a HUD function, a rangefinder, a configurable macrobinocular feature, and can be converted into an environmental filter with a two-hour air reserve. The renowned bounty hunter Jango Fett is used as the template for the Republic’s Clone Troopers. He employs Clawdite bounty hunter Zam Wessel in a failed attempt to assassinate Senator Padme Amidala. Later, in the course of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s investigation of the cloning facility on Kamino, a partially-armored Fett battles against the Jedi briefly before fleeing the planet. During the Battle of Geonosis, Jango Fett, fighting on behalf of Count Dooku, is hindered at a critical moment by his malfunctioning jet pack and was subsequently beheaded by the lightsaber of Mace Windu. Jango’s cloned son, Boba Fett, witnesses the death of the elder Fett, retrieving the latter’s helmet in the duel’s aftermath.
