Under the name “Jumpman” Mario initially appeared as the protagonist in Donkey Kong. Later, Mario appeared in the Mario Bros. games, emerging valiantly and selflessly to defend the Mushroom Kingdom and Princess Toadstool against the minions of King Koopa.
