In Gremlins 2: The New Batch, the death of Mr. Wing leaves Gizmo in the custody of the experimental science division of Clamp Enterprises. Although briefly reunited with Billy and Kate, Gizmo is left behind in an office and is exposed to water, generating a new group of Mogwais, more caricature than the versions from the original movie, led by the evil Stripe-equivalent Mohawk. Eating after midnight and transforming into Gremlins, the original group begins to infest various aspects of the Clamp office building; the Gremlins quickly multiply, many of them gaining access to the laboratory and the bizarre ongoing experiments gloomily overseen by the oppressive Dr. Catheter. Repetitively tormented by Mohawk, Gizmo is inspired by Rambo to rescue Kate by killing the spider-mutated Mohawk.
