Ultimate Hulk stands 8” tall, and he’s supposed to have around 14 or 16 points of articulation. Grey-skinned and outlandishly muscular, he’s poised in a semi-crouch, a portrait of uncontrollable fury. Snarling, insensate with spiraling rage, Banner’s former presence is revealed only by the tattered shreds of his blue pants. The Hulk comes complete with a base and a cityscape background image.
The Ultimate Hulk was unlike the Savage Hulk in that he was guided by base impulses. Where the Savage Hulk was sometimes childlike, experiencing sympathy or mercy or even the occasional moral dilemma, Ultimate Hulk was a destructive monster who would not hesitate to kill or even eat those around him. He was unmanageable in any superhero sense, and nearly impossible to stop once he got going. The Banner half of Ultimate Hulk was also morally ambiguous, trying to discern the Secret Soldier formula primarily to utilize on his own behalf, in the vainglorious interest of maintaining his human control while in the form of the Hulk. In his defense, however, in the Ultimate continuity, he (Banner) seemed to be generally treated with a kind of bland and unobtrusive contempt, while being kept on a regimen of drugs to restrain the Hulk’s emergence.
