Chucky: Mortally wounded serial killer Charles Lee Ray performs a voodoo ritual which enables him to transfer his soul into the body of a Good Guy Doll, “Chucky”. Purchased as a birthday gift for the 6-year old Andy, Chucky uses his new form as camouflage from which he eliminates his former accomplices. Failing in his attempt to use Andy as a host for a second soul transference, Chucky becomes a flesh-and-blood doll, attacking Andy’s family and friends. Chucky survives a burning and a gunshot to his heart, and is reconstructed in Child’s Play 2.
Jigsaw: Topped by a shock of coarse black hair, his waxy-white cheekbones decorated with hypnotic red swirls, the seemingly innocuous Billy the Puppet is wearing a black tuxedo with a red bowtie. Billy announces presence of the Jigsaw Killer. Typically Jigsaw’s victims awake abruptly inside a monstrous deathtrap, and are greeted by Billy the Puppet who presents a quick video tape tutorial. In most instances, victims of the Jigsaw Killer are tasked to perform some ghastly self-mutilation, within a narrow timeframe, or face an even ghastlier death.
