MEZCO Toyz joins forces with New Line Cinema's House of Horrors, the licensing division for Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and A Nightmare on Elm Street, to bring a fresh new perspective to the House of Horrors collectible category. The third assortment of 7" scale Cinema Of Fear 7” Series 3 features the following:
1x Freddy (A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child): This version of Freddy, clad in a frilled white shirt, black pants and a towering chef’s hat, features an alternate hand and creepy Freddy reborn infant accessory. In Part 5, Freddy circumvents the spiritual form of Amanda Krueger as he schemes to reconstitute his power via Alice’s unborn child; using the child as a conduit, Freddy acquires access to the dreams of Alice and her friends. Freddy’s chef manifestation is derived from one of the film’s dream sequences in which he presides over an outlandish banquet table and glibly subjects one of Alice’s friends to a ghastly feast.
1x Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003): This version of Leatherface is equipped with a sledgehammer and chainsaw, and is accompanied by an alternate head without the dead skin mask. The remake version of Leatherface is monstrous and physically powerful; his preference for wearing the faces of his vanquished prey is blamed upon disfigurements generated by a flesh-eating virus. Ultimately, during a dark dank sequence staged in an abandoned slaughterhouse, Leatherface is maimed by the beguilingly beautiful survivor girl Erin, and is later unable to prevent Erin’s escape.
1x The Hitchhiker (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974): The Hitchhiker is equipped with bindle, camera, pocket-knife, and razor. The Hitchhiker is initially picked up by the van carrying Jerry, Kirk, Pam, Sally and the invalid Franklyn. Bemusing his hosts by acting bizarrely and cutting himself, the Hitchhiker slashes Franklyn’s arm. Summarily ejected from the van, the Hitchhiker smears his blood alongside the side of the vehicle as it drives away. The Hitchhiker is subsequently revealed to be the deranged cannibalistic kin of Leatherface and the Old Man, and is present as Sally, the last survivor of the original group, is bound to a chair at the raucous family dinner table.
1x Jason Voorhees (Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday): This version of Jason is equipped with a machete and enchanted dagger, and is accompanied by the serpentine demon of the Voorhees essence. At the outset of the film, Jason is ambushed by FBI operatives and is bombarded until he explodes. Jason’s fragmented remains are taken to a secure forensics lab, where Jason’s disembodied heart mesmerizes the coroner into ingesting it. Jason possesses the coroner, and leaps into other inferior bodies before his essence is revealed to be a demonic creature. Once it is divulged by inordinately-knowledgeable bounty hunter Creighton Duke that Jason can only be killed by another Voorhees, Jason’s monstrous default form is reconstituted. Jason is subsequently pitted against his niece, the latter equipped with the enchanted dagger.
