Orbital Drop Shock Troopers are an elite branch of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) Special Forces. Encompassing a contingent of courageous volunteer troops, the ODST have participated in assaults on three separate HALO installations. Housed by the ODST helmet, the Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance provides tactical data in real time.
The M274 Ultra-light All-Terrain Vehicle, or Mongoose, is a weaponless UNSC vehicle designed for reconnaissance missions. Capable of supporting one additional passenger, the Mongoose boasts impressive speed and maneuverability second only to the vehicle’s larger cousin, the M831 Troop Transport. Lacking both weapons and armor, and leaving the driver and passenger exposed, the Mongoose is dependent on the armed passenger; in accordance with UNSC Marine Corps protocol, a Mongoose will typically be accompanied by a passenger equipped with an M41 Rocket Launcher.
