Swing Shot Bane: Arriving in Gotham City with the remnants of the League of Shadows under his command, Bane develops a scheme to complete the work of Ra’s al Ghul. Defeating and debilitating an unprepared Batman, Bane traps the city’s cop population in a concrete tunnel. He publicly shatters the empowerment created by Harvey Dent’s martyrdom, revealing the latter’s descent into villainy, and prompts the remaining Gothamites to embrace chaos. Bane spares the life of the crippled Bruce Wayne to enable the latter to watch the fall of Gotham City. Bane is surprised when a healed, re-trained Batman reemerges. Bane’s superior strength provides him with the upper hand, however he loses his advantage when Batman damages the mask which provides Bane a constant supply of analgesic gas. As Bane retreats, momentarily stunned, his relationship to Miranda Tate and Ra’s al Ghul is revealed.
Stealth Vision Batman: Eight years after assuming guilt for the murders committed by Harvey Dent, Gotham City enjoys a comparative golden age. Ravaged by cars and old wounds, Bruce Wayne becomes a recluse. During a benefit praising Harvey Dent, Wayne catches Selina Kyle while the latter steals a pearl necklace belonging to Wayne’s mother and extracts Wayne’s fingerprints from the interior of the safe for an unknown reason. The significance of the fingerprints is revealed when Wayne Enterprises is looted. Against the advice of Alfred, the battered Wayne becomes Batman again to defeat Bane, however Bane thoroughly pulverizes the former, breaking Batman’s back and forcing the broken Bruce Wayne to watch Bane demoralizes the populace of Gotham City. Wayne succeeds in healing his body and returns to Gotham, gaining an advantage against Bane by damaging the mask which provides Bane a constant supply of analgesic gas.
