Art may be subjective, but there’s no arguing that this painting of Vigo is bad - we’re talking the end of civilization as we know it bad! Vigo, villainous star of Ghostbusters II, features a lenticular painting depicting The Sorrow of Moldavia in and out of his frame. Flip it around to see the Ghostbusters™ as the saviors of the city.
The glowering Vigo is dressed in studded medieval attire. A 16th century tyrant/sorcerer, Vigo the Carpathian is inevitably turned upon by his oppressed subjects and subsequently poisoned, shot, stabbed, hanged, stretched, disemboweled, and drawn and quartered. Transcending his grisly death, Vigo perpetuates his existence by residing within a life-sized portrait. The portrait resurfaced for restoration in modern day New York, and utilizes the Psychomagnotheric Slime flowing beneath the city to increase his power and influence. Ensorcelling the bumbling, easily-manipulated Janosz, Vigo attempts to orchestrate his rebirth in the form of Dana’s baby Oscar.
