Mattel comes through with a fantastic new assortment if figures, some of which debuted at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con. This case will contain a full set of 6 new figures including:
1x Batman (Classic Black and Gray) This is the standard classic version of Batman, equipped with a bulky brown utility belt and a couple of batarangs.
1x Clayface: This is easily one of the most impressive looking supervillain figures ever produced. This version of Clayface is reminiscent of the version from Batman: The Animated Series, although the DC Superheroes Clayface is sculpted to mimic oozing mud a little more realistically. Clayface’s bulky misshapen form is capable of impersonating myriad shapes and forms: Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Bea Arthur. Clayface appears to be extensively articulated.
1x Joker: The Joker is equipped with a respirator mask and gigantic-sized clown mallet. Making a garish display of unwavering panache, the Clown Prince of Crime is clad in a purple jacket, a pink shirt, a green vest, and orange pants. The Joker has spent some time planning and is now prepared to unleash a new ghastly caper on Gotham City; should the caper fail, however, the Joker is prepared cut his losses, use his clown mallet to bash Nightwing into bat guano, and then festively douse the city with Smile-X gas.
1x Nightwing: Nightwing is armed with shield and Escrima stick (although neither of these will avail him once the fun-loving Joker pounds him into oblivion with an oversized clown mallet). Formerly serving as Batman’s sidekick Robin, Nightwing saw the need for a new costume and superhero identity.
1x Catwoman: This extensively articulated version of Catwoman comes with a whip pet feline Isis; Catwoman sports a blue-black jumpsuit and infrared goggles. Catwoman’s elaborate thievery skills are reinforced by superior reflexes and an array of acrobatic and combat skills. A complex and ambiguous character, she adheres to a code of her own design and has been shown to serve a versatile number of interests.
1x Bruce Wayne to Batman: Something about this version of Batman is oddly reminiscent of the Gargoyles’ Xanatos action figure without the faux-Goliath gear. In any event, this figure can be used to portray either a partially-costumed Bruce Wayne or a fully-costumed Batman. Presumably there is some type of benefit to be reaped from this changeover process.
