Part of the 6”-7” scale DC Superheroes line, Bizarre is captured in all his ashen-skinned zombie essence, the perpetual superhero antithesis, marked by his slightly soupy off-kilter colors and his justice-inverted reverse “S” insignia. He wears a tattered cape and a tattered snarl, armed with his twisted axle-detritus. As is typical of this line, he’s highly articulated and well-detailed.
Though Bizarro has occurred in varying incarnations completely with different or revised origins, the quintessential Bizarro is simply an imperfect Superman clone. He possesses powers either like those of Superman or else twisted and reversed versions of Superman’s powers. Even hip-deep amidst murder and mass-destruction Bizarro remains essentially innocent because these things can sometimes constitute heroism in the text of the inverted Bizarro logic. Over time, he has evolved from a randomly-chiseled angular look into a semblance slightly more human although slightly more zombielike as well. His exact powers seemingly remain mostly a device of creative interpretation, although by and large they now stick more to the primes of Superman’s powers twisted and inverted.
