The super robot TV anime UFO Robot Grendizer is wildly popular overseas, especially in France. So it comes as no surprise that French toy maker Karisma Toys has set their sights on this mighty hero with their latest release: The Grendizer vs Janus Diorama. Limited to only 444 pieces, the resin statue features Grendizer battling Janus from the classic episode The Feast of the Wolves. The resin figures measure approximately 8 inches tall.
Depicted in a combat stance, Grendizer is pitted against Janus. Colored in black, green and blue with red slash marks, Janus has a horn-studded cranial housing with an ominous black faceplate, and his outstretched arms are outfitted with shield-like convex circular saw blades. In UFO Robot Grendizer, the tyrannical King Vega leaves behind a ravaged non-sustaining homeworld to propagate the Vegan empire by dominating other worlds such as the innocuous planet of Fleed. In the ensuing assault, waged by the monsters and robots comprising the Fleed army, the planet of Fleed is laid to waste. Prince Duke Fleed, representing the last of the royal family, commandeers the Super Robot Grendizer, a manifestation representing the Fleedian God of War. Grendizer is equipped with weapons such as Shoulder Boomerangs, the Screw Crasher Punch and the Space Thunder maneuver.
