Encrusted with golden scales, Gigan is a massive winged cyborg outfitted with metallic beak/mandibles, abdomen-situated buzzsaw, and hooked claws. Gigan’s saw blade is notable in that it is capable of penetrating Godzilla’s hide and drawing blood. Utilized by an alien race intent upon annihilating mankind and colonizing Earth, Gigan is originally partnered with King Ghidorah. Godzilla initially dispatches Anguirus from Monster Island, and later joins Anguirus in an offensive which successfully drives Gigan and Ghidorah into space. Later, in Godzilla vs. Megalon, Gigan is partnered with the Seatopians’ wrathful deity, Megalon, against Godzilla and Jet Jaguar.
