Sub-Zero is the assassin mantle assumed by the Lin Kuei-trained siblings Bi-Han and Kuai. During the first Mortal Kombat tournament Bi-Han is killed by the vengeful Scorpion, and is replaced by Kuai, the latter eventually distancing himself from the notoriety of his mantle by rebelling against Shao Khan. In Mortal Kombat 9, Sub-Zero becomes a playable character in the game’s eighth chapter. A skilled Cryomancer, Sub-Zero is capable of performing trademark mystical feats such as the Ice Freeze, the Slide, and the Ground-Ice maneuver; Sub-Zero’s Fatalities include the Spine Rip, the Skeleton Rip, and the Deep Freeze.
