The mighty Thunderlips features red-plumed hat and red burr-tousled fabric cape. Thunderlips is a posturing champion wrestler usually accompanied by an entourage of adoring female companions. He demands similar adoration from the spectator crowd, horrifying the crowd by snarling angry tantrums when said adoration is not forthcoming.
Prior to temporarily losing his belt to Clubber Lang, Rocky agrees to fight a charity event exhibition match against Thunderlips. Rocky assumes the match to be a lighthearted matter, not realizing that the insult-spewing Thunderlips intends to step into the ring and turn him into saltwater taffy. Towering over Rocky in a way that almost seems cartoonish, Thunderlips immediately subjects Rocky to a mixture of dirty punches and bone-rattling slams, forcing Rocky to conquer Thunderlips at his own game.
