4-LOM is a slender, dark-hued, heavily weathered protocol droid reprogrammed by Jabba’s technicians into a kill-ready bounty hunter unit, considerably tougher than the bumbling likes of C-3PO. 4-LOM’s insectoid head, complete with enlarge green-faceted eyes, perpetuate his ominous aura. 4-LOM’s heightened speed and intelligence assist him well as a bounty hunter. He is eventually partnered with the Gand bounty hunter Zuckuss, endeavoring to fathom and acquire Zuckuss’ uncanny power of intuition. Zuckuss himself labors primarily in the hope of gaining the necessary funds to purchase clone lungs. The only two partners in attendance, 4-LOM and Zuckuss are gathered among their fellow bounty hunters aboard the Executor when Darth Vader tasks the bounty hunters with the capture of the Millenium Flacon.
Dressed in a bulky robe overlapped by scalloping armor plates, Zuckuss is outfitted with his distinctive insectoid respirator. Benefited by his ability to intuit the actions of his prey, Zuckuss is partnered with the droid 4-LOM, the latter hoping to acquire Zuckuss’ preternatural abilities. Zuckuss is dependant upon his respirator mask, which was once ripped from his face for a matter of seconds which were nevertheless sufficient to permanently damage Zuckuss’ fragile lungs. Hoping to earn the necessary funds to purchase clone replacements for his damaged lungs, Zuckuss, joined by 4-LOM, is among the bounty hunters recruited by Darth Vader to locate the Millennium Falcon.
