1x Captain America

1x Red Skull

1x Hulk

1x Falcon

1x Black Widow

1x Iron Man

Captain America: Originally deemed unfit for service, Steve Rogers volunteers for the experimental Super Soldier Serum and is reconstituted into Captain America, a master tactician and one of the most skilled physical combatants in the Marvel universe. Captain America’s nearly indestructible shield is a freak occurrence derived from multiple attempts by metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain to fuse Wakanda-indigenous Vibranium with an experimental alloy.

Red Skull: In order to harness the power-imbuing Tesseract, Johann Schmidt ordered Abraham Erskine to treat him (Schmidt) with an imperfect prototypal version of the super soldier serum; Schmidt’s heightened physical prowess enabled him to master the Tesseract, although it resulted in the ghastly disfigurement which earned him the derisive nickname, Red Skull. Red Skull is placed in command of the HYDRA organization, a scientific division which enables him to develop advanced weapons powered by the vast energies of the Tesseract. Ultimately, asserting his dominance by virtue of super weapons, Red Skull embarks on a quest to pulverize the whole of mankind into groveling subservience.

Hulk: Spawned by gamma radiation, the Hulk was an entity triggered from within otherwise innocuous scientist Bruce Banner. The Hulk’s strength is proportionate to his rage. Though not always specifically aggressive, the Hulk is constantly provoked by the likes of the military. Following the arrival of Loki, Bruce Banner is recruited by the Black Widow to assist S.H.I.E.L.D. in locating Loki’s Tesseract-powered staff. Loki’s true plan, to unleash a berserk Hulk against the other Avengers, is realized belatedly. The Hulk battles Thor before he is goaded into leaping from the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

Falcon: Initially the Falcon is a spy/saboteur dispatched by the Red Skull to serve as Captain America’s partner. In addition to brainwashing the Falcon and effectively erasing the latter’s past, the Red Skull uses the reality-warping Cosmic Cube to bond the Falcon with his mascot bird, generating an ability which eventually enables the Falcon to communicate with all birds. The Falcon finally overpowers the Red Skull’s pervading influence and becomes America’s partner in earnest. A skilled physical combatant, the Falcon is able to fly (or glide) by the use of a winged harness.

Black Widow: In the guise of personal assistant Natalie Rushman, S.H.I.E.L.D. undercover operative Natasha Romanoff infiltrates Stark Industries, observing Tony Stark and creating a partial basis for S.H.I.E.LD.’s evaluation of Stark as a potential member of the Avengers. Following Loki’s theft of the Tesseract and the activation of the Avengers Initiative, the Black Widow recruits Bruce Banner, and participates in the initial apprehension of Loki. She ascertains Loki’s scheme to orchestrate Bruce Banner’s transformation into the Hulk while aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, and attempts to offset Banner’s transformation once the Helicarrier is attacked by a team of ensorcelled S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives led by Hawkeye.

Iron Man: The Iron Man armor is constructed as a housing for the transistorized chest plate used to save the mortally wounded Tony Stark. Modified numerous times even prior to Iron Man’s association with the Avengers, the original Iron Man Armor utilizes transistor and magnetic repulsor technology which provides Stark with flight capability, heightened strength and durability, and a variety of onboard weapons.
