R2D2 & C3PO: R2-D2 is outfitted to serve the functions of starship mechanic and computer interface specialist; originally performing maintenance aboard Queen Amidala’s royal starship, R2 enables the ship to escape the Trade Federation’s blockade. A protocol droid geared specifically for interaction with organic life forms, C-3PO is outfitted with a TranLang III Communicator module and an AA-1 VerboBrain which grant him access to more than six million forms of communication.
Yoda & Luke Skywalker: Yoda is initially mistaken for an inconsequential life form by Luke Skywalker after the latter arrives on the swamp-infested Dagobah; the Jedi Master Yoda initially expresses doubts in regards to Skywalker’s compatibility, and is disappointed when Skywalker discontinues his training. Prompted by the ghost of Obi-Wan, Luke trains halfheartedly, plagued by self-doubt and preoccupied with the fate of his friends, and finally departs for Bespin against Yoda’s advice.
Darth Vader & Stormtrooper: Maimed and disfigured beyond repair, sustained by a mechanized life support system and prosthetics, the battered and disfigured Sith Lord Darth Vader serves as both the apprentice and enforcer of Emperor Palpatine; in the course of locating and destroying the Rebel Alliance, Vader scours the galaxy relentlessly for his son, Luke Skywalker, with the intention of luring the conflicted Skywalker to the Dark Side. Enforcing the will of Emperor Palpatine, most Stormtroopers are outfitted with the E-11 blaster rifle, as well as armor with built-in comlinks and varying protection against toxins and hostile environments.
Darth Maul and Sith Speeder: Produced by Razalon, identified by its distinctive crescent shape, the repulsorlift-based FC-20 Speeder Bike is outfitted with a simplified steering handle, and is capable of a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. Darth Maul’s customized version, characterized as the Sith Speeder and dubbed Bloodfin after the Bastion-indigenous semi-aquatic creature of the same name, is a lithe, comparatively Spartan vehicle, lacking weaponry in favor of the twin lightsabers wielded by Maul himself.
Qui Gon and Obi Wan: Both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are sent to Naboo in reaction to the battleship blockade staged by the Trade Federation; the two Jedi battle Darth Maul in the Theed Generator Complex, Qui-Gon sustaining a fatal wound from Maul’s dual-bladed lightsaber. The grief-stricken Obi-Wan agrees to Qui-Gon’s dying wish, promising to continue the Jedi training of the young Anakin Skywalker; Obi-Wan narrowly succeeds in defeating Darth Maul, bisecting the Sith apprentice.
Obi Wan Kenobi & Commander Cody: Serving as mentor to the teenage Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi is a High Jedi General; he negotiates a treaty with Jabba the Hutt, and battles against Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress. Developed within an advanced training program designed to bolster individuality and free thought, Commander Cody leads the 212th Attack Battalion, serving as second-in-command to Obi-Wan, with whom Cody forms an impromptu friendship.
General Grievous and Battle Droid: General Grievous is a cyborg composed of a duranium alloy body with synthskin-bagged vital organs and LX-44 robotic legs. He is appointed the Supreme General of the Droid Army. Mass-produced and unleashed in seemingly inexhaustible multitudes, the B1 Battle Droid, structurally identical to the OOM-series model, is designed to resemble a skeletonized Geonosian with a head pattered after a Neimoidian skull. Typically Battle Droids are answerable to Droid Control Ships. Despite the Battle Droids’ fearlessness and relentless attack function, they are easily outsmarted and outmaneuvered by the likes of Jedi opponents.
Captain Rex and Arc Trooper: Leader of Torrent Company, Rex serves as second-in-command to Anakin Skywalker, participating in a number of noted engagements including the Battle of Christophsis, the Battle of Teth, and the Battle of Ryloth. Lacking the behavior modification applied to ordinary troopers, Advanced Recon Commandos are provided with augmented strength and are trained by Jango Fett. Dressed in modified Phase I armor, ARC Troopers are atypically outfitted with the WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle, the DC-15A blaster rifle, and DC-17 hand blasters.
