Black Spider-Man: During the Secret Wars, Spider-Man replaces his damaged costume with a black alien symbiote, however the suit’s negative influence ultimately forces Peter Parker to disentangle himself. Many years later, Spider-Man’s decision to trade his classic costume for an ordinary fabric version of the black costume, associated with the aggressive persona triggered by the Black Symbiote, is reflective of personal turmoil. Regretting his decision to publicly resister his identity and shaken by the sight of a prison for the unregistered superhumans, Spider-Man leaves the Avengers Tower with his family, generating conflict with the pro-registrant Iron Man.

Iron Spider-Man: A hybrid of the classic Spider-Man costume and the modern Iron-Man armor, Iron Spider-Man is dressed in a red and gold uniform outfitted with multi-jointed gold spider appendages. Spider-Man evolves into a monstrous spider creature before reverting to a human with new powers including a venom-secreting bite and organic webbing. Tony Stark provides Spider-Man with a liquid metal-construct costume with mechanical appendages.

Iron Patriot: The Iron Patriot, combining elements of both Iron Man and Captain America, is concocted by Norman Osborne as a means of propagating his superhero persona. Utilizing the specifications of the Iron Man Extremis armor, the Iron Patriot suit provides flight capability, vastly heightened strength and durability, an arsenal of weaponry including flamethrowers, lasers, magnetic impact blasts and missile launchers, and a helmet-encompassed communications system granting Osborne access to satellites and computer networks.

Silver Surfer: The Silver Surfer is accompanied by his trademark cosmic surfboard. Norrin Radd agrees to become the herald of the planet-devouring Galactus as a means of preserving his own (Radd’s) homeworld of Zenn-La. Eventually the Surfer arrives on Earth to herald Galactus’ presence, but unexpectedly develops sympathy for mankind which ultimately causes him to side with the Fantastic Four against Galactus. Galactus agrees to spare Earth, however his displeasure with the Silver Surfer prompts him to partially de-power the Surfer and restrict the Surfer to Earth’s atmosphere, preventing the Surfer from returning to Zenn-La.

Scarlet Spider: Colored in blue and red, the Scarlet Spider costume is outfitted with distinctive web-shooting gauntlets. The first of the series of clones created by the Jackal, the Scarlet Spider is a Peter Parker clone intended to eliminate the original Spider-Man. Surviving his initial battle with Spider-Man, the Scarlet Spider becomes Ben Reilly, remaining dormant for a handful of years before becoming a superhero. Like Spider-Man, the Scarlet Spider possesses enhanced strength, speed and reflexes, is capable of clinging to virtually any surface, and is benefited by a precognitive spider-sense.

Spider man Unlimited: Bitten by a radioactive super-spider, the mainstream Spider-Man possesses enhanced strength, speed and reflexes, and a precognitive spider-sense that allows him to detect the presence of any non-Symbiote adversary. Unlimited Spider-Man is also bitten by a super-spider, and additionally wears a modified costume, utilizing Reed Richards’ nanotechnology, which provides him (Spider-Man) with stealth capability and sonic weaponry.

Kraven: Wearing outlandish lion’s mane attire, Kraven is equipped with a knife and a sphere. Renowned as the greatest hunter in the world, Kraven attempts to hunt Spider-Man, and, ultimately failing, becomes a founding member of the Sinister Six, battling Spider-Man with the assistance of wildcats. Kraven initially prefers to attack his prey with bare hands, although in the case of Spider-Man he consumes a mystic potion made from unspecified jungle herbs which heightens his strength, speed, reflexes and stamina.

New Incredible Hulk!: Hounded by the military, Bruce Banner resurfaces as an anonymous employee of a bottling factory in Rio de Janeiro. However, a tiny drop of his blood taints an outgoing bottle, enabling Thunderbolt Ross to acquire his location. Emil Blonsky, a mercenary hired by Ross, volunteers to test Ross’ gamma-saturated super-soldier serum, becoming the Abomination, a monster which can only be stopped by the Hulk. The Hulk is later recruited as a member of the Avengers, and is unleashed against the onslaught of Chitauri invaders summoned by Loki.

Beast: The Beast’s original mutation provides him with enhanced strength, reflexes, and athletic prowess. He later uses his genius intellect in an attempt to reverse his simian characteristics, however the experiment backfires and his mutations are drastically intensified to include blue fur and razor-sharp teeth and claws. A subsequent mutation creates a feline restructure, increasing his already superhuman agility and reflexes, and provides him with regenerative ability.

Beta Ray Bill: A guardian of the Korbonite species, Beta Ray Bill is initially discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D. aboard the Skuttlebutt, the advance ship of a Korbonite fleet. Mistaking Beta Ray for an aggressive enemy, Thor battles Beta Ray and is ultimately separated from Mjolnir for a period exceeding sixty seconds. Thor reverts to the unconscious Donald Blake, enabling Beta Ray to retrieve Blake’s cane and transform (himself) into an imposing Korbonite-Thor equivalent. Beta Ray later battles Thor in the Asgardian realm of Skartheim for ownership of Mjolnir. Beta Ray narrowly gains the upper hand and saves Thor’s life, effectively prompting Odin to create a duplicate hammer with its own distinctive design, Stormbreaker.
