Measuring approximately 2” tall, each Avengers Super Squad figure features a childlike aesthetic, limited articulation, and character-specific weapons/accessories.
The Avengers Superhero Squad Series 01: Set of 3 includes the following three-packs:
1x Earth's Mightiest Heroes
1x Secret Invasion
1x Attack of Loki
Earth's Mightiest Heroes:
Captain America: Barred from enlistment in the U.S. Army, the sickly Steve Rogers volunteers for the military-funded Project: Rebirth, and is transformed into the super solider Captain America; decades he is recovered, resuscitated from suspended animation, and is recruited by Nick Fury as a future member of the Avengers.
Thor: Sacrificing himself to defend Earth’s populace against the monstrous Destroyer, Thor formally announces himself as Earth’s ally and protector, and is later recruited as a member of the Avengers in direct response to Loki’s acquisition of the Tesseract and the invasion of the Chitauri.
Black Widow: Originally introduced as Tony Stark’s new personal assistant, Natalie Rushman, the Black Widow infiltrates Stark Industries on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a means of accessing Stark’s effectiveness as Iron Man. She later travels to Calcutta to recruit the Hulk, and fights alongside the Avengers in the final battle with Chitauri invaders.
Secret Invasion:
Iron Man: In The Avengers upgrades his armor to the Mark VII version, which is outfitted with a laser scan reading system and four additional thruster systems. The armor’s arsenal of weaponry includes computerized high-explosive micro-missiles, anti-armor missiles, triple-barreled laser modules, and repulsor-intensifying plasma chargers. Tony Stark discovers that Dr. Erik Selvig, while ensorcelled by Loki’s scepter, has converted Stark Tower into a portal for the Chitauri invaders.
Nick Fury: Acting on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury places the covert Natasha Romanoff in Stark Industries as a means of monitoring the unstable Tony Stark. After Stark’s drunken battle against Rhodes enables the latter to provide the military with the Mark II armor, Fury berates Stark for his excesses and provides him with the materials which allow Stark to replace his dependency upon palladium. Later, as a means of neutralizing Loki and the Chitauri invasion, Fury implements the Avengers Initiative.
Skrull Soldier: The Skrull’s nearly limitless shapeshifting abilities allow him to impersonate anything ranging from a toilet bowl to a superhero personality. A race of conquerors, the Skrulls attempt repeatedly to subjugate the planet Earth. The Skrulls’ movie counterparts, the Chitauri, forge an alliance with Loki, agreeing to serve as the latter’s army in return for possession of the Tesseract.
Attack of Loki:
Hawkeye: Hawkeye’s preferred weapon is the longbow, utilizing both ordinary arrows or specialized arrowheads containing grapnels or explosives. In Thor he appears briefly as a likable S.H.I.E.L.D. sharpshooter who is impressed by Thor’s tenacity. He is later recruited as a member of the Avengers, pitted against Loki and the Chitauri.
The Hulk: Hounded by the military, Bruce Banner resurfaces as an anonymous employee of a bottling factory in Rio de Janeiro; however, a tiny drop of his blood taints an outgoing bottle, enabling Thunderbolt Ross to acquire his location. He is later recruited as a member of the Avengers, and is unleashed against the onslaught of Chitauri invaders summoned by Loki.
Loki: Envious of his brother, Loki manipulates the Frost Giants of Jotunheim into trespassing the Asgardian vault to reacquire the Casket of Ancient Winters, and later goads Thor into invading Jotunheim, shattering the tentative truce established by Odin. Exiled into the abyss generated by a rift in the Bifröst Bridge, Loki later utilizes the Tesseract to escape and enlist the aid of Chitauri invaders.
