Dressed in elaborate attire and a horned helmet reminiscent of his comic cook counterpart, Cosmic Spear Loki is equipped with his trademark staff and a double-tipped spear with spring-out blades. Envious of his brother, Loki manipulates the Frost Giants of Jotunheim into trespassing the Asgardian vault to reacquire the Casket of Ancient Winters, and later goads Thor into invading Jotunheim, shattering the tentative truce established by Odin. When Odin succumbs to Odinsleep, Loki swiftly claims the throne of Asgard. Exiled into the abyss generated by a rift in the Bifröst Bridge, Loki utilizes the Tesseract to travel to Earth, and uses the power-imbuing artifact as a bargaining chip to enlist the aid of Chitauri invaders.
