Hulk & Thor: The Hulk is clad in his trademark tattered purple pants; spawned by gamma radiation, the Hulk possesses superhuman strength which is proportionate to his boundless rage; originally, the Hulk is manipulated by Loki and set against Thor, although ultimately the Hulk allies with Thor, Iron Man, the Wasp and Ant-Man to defeat Loki. Modern Thor is a new version of the character reunified with human host Donald Blake; the New Thor is preoccupied with the tasks of rebuilding Asgard on Earth and recovering his lost fellow Asgardians.
Iron Man & Dr. Doom: Modified numerous times even prior to Iron Man’s association with the Avengers, the Iron Man armor utilizes transistor and magnetic repulsor technology to provide Tony Stark with vastly heightened strength, flight capability and a variety of powerful onboard weapons. Dr. Doom is clad in his distinctive mechanized armor with a green fabric cape; Doctor Doom’s computer-powered battle suit provides him with superhuman strength and damage-resistance, in addition to numerous life support functions.
Captain America & Wolverine: Captain America is equipped with his patriotically-themed trademark shield; deemed unfit for service, Steve Rogers is augmented by the experimental Super Soldier Serum, and is pitted against Nazi malcontents such as the Red Skull and Arnim Zola. Wolverine is clad in his blue and yellow costume with Adamantium claws brandished; Wolverine’s mutant regenerative ability enables him to undergo an experimental procedure which sheathes his skeleton in Adamantium and infuses his forearms with retractable claws.
Iron Man & Silver Surfer: Modified numerous times even prior to Iron Man’s association with the Avengers, the Iron Man armor utilizes transistor and magnetic repulsor technology to provide Tony Stark with vastly heightened strength, flight capability and a variety of powerful onboard weapons. The Silver Surfer is accompanied by his trademark cosmic surfboard; as a means of preserving his home world of Zenn-La, Norrin Radd agrees to become the herald of the planet-devouring Galactus, and is transformed into the Silver Surfer.
