Iron Man: Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor represents the most advanced technology in the world, providing him with damage-resistance, vastly heightened strength, supersonic flight capability, and a variety of powerful onboard weapons. Iron Man battles against the Iron Monger and Anton Vanko’s Whiplash armor.
Captain America: Barred from enlistment in the U.S. Army, the sickly Steve Rogers volunteers for the military-funded Project: Rebirth, and is transformed into the super solider Captain America. He is transported behind enemy lines, successfully infiltrating a HYDRA facility to rescue Bucky Barnes and the latter’s fellow soldiers.
Thor: Manipulated by Loki, Thor is stripped of his power and banished to Earth, regaining his mastery of the power-imbuing Mjolnir only after sacrificing himself to defend Earth’s populace against the monstrous Destroyer. Briefly coordinating with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Thor announces himself as Earth’s ally and protector.
Hulk: Hounded by the military, Bruce Banner resurfaces as an anonymous employee of a bottling factory in Rio de Janeiro; however a tiny drop of his blood taints an outgoing bottle, enabling Thunderbolt Ross to acquire his location. Emil Blonsky, a mercenary hired by Ross, volunteers to test Ross’ gamma-saturated super-soldier serum, becoming the Abomination, a monster which can only be stopped by the Hulk. In the aftermath, Thunderbolt Ross is approached by Tony Stark and Nick Fury.
Hawkeye: Hawkeye’s preferred weapon is his longbow, utilizing ordinary arrowheads or an array of specialized arrowheads such as grapnels and explosives. In the Thor movie, when the disoriented and de-powered Thor invades a S.H.I.E.L.D facility to reclaim Mjolnir, Hawkeye appears briefly as a likable S.H.I.E.L.D sharpshooter who is impressed by Thor’s tenacity.
Loki: Envious of his brother Thor and eager to distinguish himself in the estimation of his father Odin, Loki secretly manipulates the Frost Giants of Jotunheim into trespassing in the Asgardian vault to reacquire the Casket of Ancient Winters. He later goads Thor and his peers into invading Jotunheim, shattering the tentative truce established by Odin. When Odin succumbs to Odinsleep, Loki swiftly claims the throne of Asgard.
