Each 3.75” 2012 Star Wars Movie Legends figure features multiple points of articulation, weapons/accessories, and a nameplate base.
Episode I R2-D2 features button-activated electronic sound effects. R2-D2’s various retractable appendages and instruments enable him to serve the functions of starship mechanic and computer interface specialist. R2 originally performed maintenance duty on behalf of the Royal Engineers of Naboo aboard Queen Amidala’s royal starship. He enabled the ship to escape the Trade Federation’s blockade. Later, on Tatooine, R2-D2 first encountered C-3PO, the protocol droid which was being assembled by the young Anakin Skywalker.
