Spider-Man 2099 develops his powers after accidental genetic splicing with the DNA of a spider. Sporting a futuristic costume, Spider-Man 2099 becomes a superhero in order to combat the treachery and menace generated by his former place of employment, the Alchemax Corporation. Spider-Man 2099’s powers are somewhat parallel to those of the modern-day Spider-Man, however there are difference such as the 2099’s absence of the precognitive spider-sense (in favor of a generic overall augmentation of his senses) and 2099’s ability to transmit a potent venom.
