Transformers Animated Voyager Wave 03: Grimlock is equipped with a magma-like sword. Influenced by his Gen 1 appearance, this version of Grimlock is finally granted appropriately imposing dimensions. Grimlock’s barrel-centered tyrannosaurus mode is mounted atop stout haunches and is joined with a sturdy, drastically tapered tail. Grimlock’s robot mode is broad-shouldered, and appears to be well-articulated. Both the dino and robot modes feature head sculpts with jagged block-like overbites. Grimlock and his fellow Dinobots originated as robotic dinosaurs constructed by Isaac Sumdac and Megatron; they were subsequently granted sparks by the All Spark power contained within Sari Sudmac’s key. Grimlock established himself as Dinobot leader. Though the Dinobots were intended to be pawns of Megatron, they in fact rebelled and ultimately were corralled and trapped by Bulkhead before being relocated to Dinobot Island.
Transformers Animated Voyager Wave 03: Lugnut is armed with a gargantuan mace-like weapon. A personification of the quintessential Decepticon, Lugnut features a purple and silver color scheme, with a single glowing red eye. Lugnut’s vehicle mode is a husky attack plane equipped with forward guns and outsize engine pods. Lugnut’s robot mode is vaguely apelike in design, with the opened engine pods serving as his hands. Impenetrably adhered to the Decepticon cause, Lugnut is Megatron’s creature, demonstrating caricature loyalty to the Decepticon leader analogous to that lavished upon The Royalty by the impassioned Inferno. Lugnut distances himself from complex thought and strategy, and instead unfalteringly plies his behemoth strength and cataclysmic firepower to the various tasks placed upon him by Megatron.
