Transformers Animated Blackarachnia is equipped with a retractable grapnel hook and web line. Facets of her design and color scheme are reminiscent of the Beast Wars Mega Transmetals 2 Blackarachnia. She alternates between a sleek spider mode and an overtly feminine robot mode that appears to support articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. This is probably Blackarachnia’s most impressive action figure incarnation. Her throat is decorated with a Decepticon emblem. This version of Blackarachnia originated as Autobot cadet Elita-1, although after being inadvertently stranded on an alien planet and left to the mercy of organic spider creatures, and being subsequently forced to adapt a technorganic mode, she developed an abiding hatred for the Autobots. A Decepticon, Blackarachnia is repulsed by her technorganic form, and seems to derive at least some sustenance from plying her misery on allies and enemies alike.
