Classics Jetfire’s optional red battle armor encompasses a turret-flanked helmet, arm-mounted blasters and back-mounted dual cannons. Jetfire is also armed with a handheld cannon. Classics Grimlock bears a tyrannosaurus mode based upon the updated concept of the tyrannosaurus as a bipedal creature. Grimlock’s dino mode features articulated jaws, overall impressive articulation, and a back-mount for Grimlock’s bayoneted cannon. Grimlock’s robot mode is similarly intricate, featuring probably the best head sculpt since the original Grimlock.
The Dreamwave continuity played upon Jetfire’s former friendship with Starscream---this fact being one of the factors that contributed to Jetfire’s early reticence in choosing between the Decepticons and Autobot factions. Though Jetfire did eventually choose the Autobots, he was faced with mistrust and animosity. In the case of Grimlock, the animosity was much more pronounced, although Grimlock was forced to work alongside Jetfire in order to escape arcane sacrifice at the hands of The Fallen.
