Web Armor Spider-Man is similar to the Black Costume/Symbiote Armor Spider-Man, however in this case he features the red and blue costume and much less monstrous-looking add-on armor accessories. Presumably the armor would provide Spider-Man with an edge against a new assortment of villains including the Vulture, the Shocker, the Green Goblin, the Rhino, the Scorpion AND the mighty Mysterio! Spider-Man is the result of an incident in which awkward and bookish Peter Parker was bitten by a genetically engineered super-spider. The Spiderman 3 storyline involves a scenario in which John Jameson returns from a space expedition with an alien essence that merges with Spider-Man’s costume and gains a dark symbiotic influence over him. If only to add a superfluous degree of difficulty to the proceedings, Spider-Man is forced to shoulder the usual Mary Jane and Aunt May problems in addition to his adversarial relationships with the New Goblin, the Sandman and Venom.
