This version of R2-D2 appears to be removable from the Cargo Net contraption. This depiction recreates the scene from Endor in which Luke, Solo, Chewbacca and C-3PO & R2 were captured by the Ewoks and conveyed to the Ewok village. Initially the group was snared by a larger cargo net, necessitating that R2 use a miniature saw blade to cut everyone free. The capture only occurred because Luke urged Solo and Chewbacca not to retaliate. Later, once the Ewoks had disarmed and incapacitated their prisoners---and apparently intended to cook and eat the organic members of the group---Luke convinced C-3PO to portray himself as a terrible golden god.
