This conceptual version of the Snowtrooper is armed with a rifle, and vaguely resembles something from one of the animated sequences of The Wall. The overlapping faceplate can be removed to reveal a respirator fixture built into the Snowtrooper’s mask. It would’ve been cool to have seen Snowtroopers like this one in The Empire Strikes Back. The Snowtroopers were part of the attack force launched by the Empire against the Rebel installation of Hoth. Snowtroopers accompanied Darth Vader as he stalked among the ice-hewn corridors of the Rebel base. Unfortunately, by the time the Imperials arrived, most of the Rebels had been evacuated, a fact that frustrated Vader and probably made him doubly glad that he’d taken the time to execute Admiral Ozzel.
