Set includes 1x Optimus Prime & 1x Megatron.
Optimus Prime’s truck mode, outfitted with six rubber wheels, features a red and blue chassis with a fading flame-chased design. Prime’s robot mode is barrel-chested with a number of ratcheted joints and a wide range of articulation. Optimus Prime features electronic lights and sounds and a projectile-firing Ion Blaster. Originally, Optimus Prime ruled Cybertron alongside Megatron, although after Megatron revealed his mechanical scheme to yoke the power of the Allspark for himself, Optimus rallied a group of Cybertronian noncombatants into an unfortunately ineffective militia. As a contingency plan, Prime jettisoned the Allspark into space, and at a later point in the Autobot/Decepticon conflict, Prime gathered his troops with the intention of locating and reclaiming the Allspark.
Megatron is a towering, bulky, monstrosity with a varied color scheme noticeably different than that of the movie version. Among Megatron’s arsenal of gimmick features are electronic sounds and lights, a launching claw that becomes a chain whip, and arms that combine to form a fusion cannon. Initially Megatron was Cybertron’s designated Lord High Protector, although eventually he succumbed to his consuming lust for the Allspark. Megatron’s agenda placed him in opposition of Optimus Prime---forcing the latter to rally a militia against Megatron’s Decepticons. Megatron was single-minded and monstrously powerful; the Decepticons gained ground against their adversaries, and as a desperate contingency the Allspark was jettisoned into space. Megatron’s attempt to find the Allspark ultimately divided him from his forces and led him into frozen stasis.
