The Shock Trooper is outfitted with communication gear and a utility belt, and armed is with a blaster pistol. This special version of the Clone Trooper is clad in armor heavily adorned with bold red patterns, distantly linking the Shock Troopers to the red-clad ceremonial Royal Guards that would eventually populate the ranks of Emperor Palpatine’s retinue.
The Shock Troopers are the elite troops of Emperor Palpatine, serving as Palpatine’s personal guard on Coruscant and elsewhere. In Revenge of the Sith, Shock Troopers were ordered to capture Yoda as the latter was forced to withdraw from the personal duel with Palpatine, and were also shown accompanying Palpatine to Mustafar in order to collect the scorched and wounded remains of Darth Vader.
