The Hoth Darth Vader features a cloth cape and robe, and is armed with his red lightsaber. Vader’s imposing presence is heightened by his grim black armor and cybernetic prosthetics. This is the version of Darth Vader shown stalking through the ice-walled corridors of the Echo Base installation. Vader’s presence was echoed by a unit of specially-outfitted Snowtroopers.
The presence of the Rebel installation on Hoth is betrayed by a mere scrabbling and squawking Probe Droid. The Empire quickly descends en masse, blanketing Hoth with an aggressive attack force populated by Snowtroopers and lumbering AT-AT Walkers. Vader and his Snowtroopers penetrate the Echo Base installation, infiltrating the labyrinthine compound, although, to Vader’s frustration, most of the key Rebel personnel have now been evacuated.
