Set in 3 ¾” scale, this version of Darth Vader features a cloth cape, a red lightsaber, and Obi-Wan’s empty cloak to help recreate the duel between the two former friends in Episode IV. The black-clad Vader is a bulky, imposing figure, grimly intermingling human frailties with ponderous cybernetic prosthetics. Vader is poised above Obi-Wan’s cloak looking moderately disgusted and unsatisfied.
Obi-Wan seemed secure in his suspicion that he would be forced to confront his former pupil and best friend. For Vader, the event was a reckoning session---an opportunity to avenge himself on the man that had defeated and crippled him. Initially the duel seemed evenly matched. When Obi-Wan spotted Luke Skywalker, he surrendered himself to Vader’s lightsaber and merged with the Force.
